Let’s look at the main ingredients:
- Unsalted butter
- Cream cheese
- Sugar substitute
- Almond flour
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Almond flour is a natural, nutritious food source full of healthy fats. Use it in place of regular flour, and you’ve got yourself a nutrient-dense cookie dough.
But what about butter? What about the cream cheese? Is dairy healthy?
Here’s what we know. Dairy is full of vitamins, minerals, protein, and natural fat energy. But if everyone consumed dairy all of the time, dairy farming would become abusive and unsustainable…
Let’s be mindful of our dairy intake. Buy dairy that comes from pasture-raised cows and limit consumption.
Sugar is what makes food unhealthy.
Add 328g of sugar (17g/serving) to this recipe and you’re looking at heartburn with an energy crash. (And you’ll be scouring the pantry for your next sugar snack within the hour.)
Substitute the sugar for quality sugar alcohol, and this dessert becomes nourishment. The ingredients provide vitamins, minerals, and long-lasting energy.

Edible Cookie Dough Tips
1. Add mix-ins
We stuck with classic chocolate chip cookie dough, but feel free to include any mix-ins you like best! Chopped nuts, sprinkles, caramel bits, and pretzel pieces are just a few examples of extra ingredients you could include.
2. Make double chocolate chip cookie dough
Add cocoa powder to the dough mixture for extra chocolatey flavor to satisfy even the strongest sweet tooth with zero guilt.
3. Prepare in advance
This edible cookie dough makes 20 servings to feed a crowd but is also great to keep on hand! Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 2-3 months.
4. Get creative
This edible cookie dough is satisfying on its own, but it can also be used in a variety of treats. Try crumbling it over sugar-free ice cream, stuffing it between healthy chocolate chip cookies for a cookie dough sandwich, or fold it into milkshakes!
